Stirling Festival Shifts to September

The Radio 2 in the Park festival, initially planned for August in Stirling, Scotland, has been rescheduled to September. This decision was made after listening to concerns regarding the impact of holding the event in August, a period already busy with local music festivals. The BBC engaged with the Scottish Independent Festival Association and other stakeholders to find a solution that benefits the local community and supports Scotland's live music scene.

Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, emphasizing the goal of bringing a fantastic event to Stirling. While acknowledging that the change may affect some attendees' plans, she assured that new dates, an exciting lineup of performers, and ticket information would be announced shortly. The festival will be broadcast across BBC television, iPlayer, Sound, and Radio 2.

A Stirling Council spokesperson welcomed the festival, highlighting City Park Stirling's capacity for large-scale events. Representatives from the Scottish independent festival sector expressed appreciation for the BBC's thoughtful engagement and look forward to a successful collaboration with various partners to ensure the event's success and the continued thriving of Scotland's festival landscape.
