She detailed how producers allegedly refused to provide her with accommodation or pay, despite her requests for a formal contract. This lack of professional conduct left a lasting negative impression on the actor.

Apte, who has now been in the industry for two decades, mentioned that the production issues were so severe she often doesn't count the film among her works. Her early career struggles highlight the challenges newcomers can face regarding fair treatment and compensation.

Mahesh Manjrekar, who directed the film, was noted as a positive figure by Apte. She recalled being cast after impressing him in a play, but the overall production environment overshadowed any initial excitement, marking a stark contrast to her later acclaimed career.
