11 Oct
Summary
- The Raconteurs reunited onstage for the first time in seven years.
- The reunion happened during Jack White's concert in Nashville.
- The band performed songs from their debut album, 'Broken Boy Soldiers'.
The Raconteurs made a surprise return to the stage this past Saturday, marking their first performance together in seven years. The reunion occurred during Jack White's concert at The Truth venue in Nashville, with White having subtly hinted at the special appearance earlier that day via social media.
The foursome—Jack White, Brenden Benson, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler—delivered a five-song set during the encore. This performance included fan favorites and three tracks from their 2006 debut album, "Broken Boy Soldiers." This marks the band's first performance since December 2019.
The reunion aligns with the recent announcement of a 20th-anniversary edition of "Broken Boy Soldiers" from Jack White's Third Man Records Vault series. This special reissue will feature a recording of the band's inaugural concert on March 20, 2006, alongside nine previously unreleased demos from that era.
It remains uncertain whether this reunion was a singular event to celebrate the album's reissue and the opening of the new Nashville venue, or if the band has further plans. The Raconteurs' last album, "Help Me Stranger," was released in 2019.
