Zegler described the experience as a "confusing time" in her early twenties, noting how she was criticized for her heritage. She faced accusations of not being "Latino enough" for her role in West Side Story, only to be deemed "too Latino" for Snow White.

She revealed that the trolling extended to threats against her safety, prompting her to state she would have discarded her phone if she had foreseen such an impact.

Zegler articulated her deep pride in her Colombian-Polish background, asserting her commitment to "never assimilate for anybody else's comfort."

Therapy has been instrumental in maintaining her mental well-being since achieving superstardom, and she advocates for destigmatizing mental health discussions.

The Snow White remake, directed by Marc Webb, has been surrounded by controversy, including speculation of on-set friction between Zegler and co-star Gal Gadot over their differing perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Further fueling public interest, Zegler recently unfollowed Gadot on Instagram. Disputes also arose regarding the studio's decision to implement a politically correct revamp of the classic tale.

Peter Dinklage had previously criticized Disney's choice to remake the story, deeming it a "backward story." The film's premiere in Leicester Square, London, was canceled, with sources indicating Disney anticipated an "anti-woke backlash."
