Debut director Vignesh Vadivel is set to release his upcoming comedy entertainer, Raawadi, starring LK Akshay Kumar and Basil Joseph. This film marks Basil Joseph's first full-length role in Tamil cinema. Joseph portrays a college alumnus who returns to his alma mater to resolve a problem he once caused.
Akshay Kumar, alongside Jaffer Sadiq, Nobel James, and Arunachaleswaran PA, play students entangled in this campus issue. Vignesh highlights that Joseph's character's background remains mysterious to the students, allowing for a blend of Malayalam and Tamil in his dialogue. Joseph prepared extensively for the role.
Director Vignesh praised Akshay Kumar's performance, noting his contrast to his previous dark role in Sirai. Akshay's character is central to keeping the student group united. Aishwarya Sharma also makes a brief appearance in the film. The director expressed happiness over Tamil cinema embracing younger actors and campus-centric stories, a trend he believes is gaining momentum.
