For the first time, Queen Elizabeth II's private living quarters at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh are being opened to the public. This exclusive access commemorates the centenary of her birth and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the royal couple's personal spaces.
The tours will guide visitors through the rooms where the Queen and Prince Philip spent their private time. This includes the Sitting Room, where the Queen managed official duties from her red boxes and watched horse racing, and the Dressing Room, where her attire for significant occasions is displayed.
These modestly decorated 17th-century rooms provide a rare glimpse into the personal lives of the monarchs. The Royal Breakfast Room, used for private dining, and Prince Philip's collection of contemporary Scottish art, reflecting his affection for Scotland, are also featured.
Available from May 21 to September 10 this year, these special tours require an additional ticket to the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Tickets offer priority booking for Royal Collection Trust subscribers starting March 9, with general sales beginning March 12.
