Whitelands, a Georgian country house once home to James Bond actor Desmond Llewelyn, is now available for £2 million. Llewelyn, famous for his role as Q, lived at the property near Battle, East Sussex, from 1957 to 1965.
This historic residence spans over 4,600 square feet and features five bedrooms. The property blends period architecture, including sash windows and fireplaces, with modern amenities like a swimming pool and solar panels.
Llewelyn's time at Whitelands coincided with the early years of his career as Q, beginning with his first appearance in 'From Russia with Love' in 1963. He later appeared in 17 Bond films.
The grounds extend to approximately 1.5 acres and include stables, a garage, and a detached annexe, reflecting Llewelyn's known passion for gardening.
Modern upgrades, such as solar panels and an air-source heat pump, have been integrated into the property. Whitelands now offers a unique combination of cinematic history and contemporary country living.
The property has retained its Georgian character while being adapted for modern family life. Its blend of historical significance and practical facilities makes it appealing to potential buyers.
