Pulp has unveiled their latest track, "Begging for Change," a powerful anthem recorded at Abbey Road Studios. The song is set for release on March 6 as part of the HELP(2) compilation by War Child Records. This project brings together an impressive roster of artists, including Arctic Monkeys, Olivia Rodrigo, and Depeche Mode, to support children affected by war.
Frontman Jarvis Cocker spearheaded the effort, enlisting a notable choir featuring Damon Albarn, Grian Chatten, Kae Tempest, and Carl Barat. Cocker expressed a deep commitment to War Child, referencing a previous contribution of prize money 30 years ago. The HELP(2) album builds on the legacy of the 1995 HELP compilation, continuing the mission to provide critical aid, education, and mental health support to children worldwide.
Rich Clarke of War Child UK emphasized the album's significance as a unified industry effort. He highlighted its role in raising funds and awareness for children in conflict zones, urging a transition from compassion to action. Pulp's involvement also follows their recent reunion and the release of their eighth album, "More," inspired by personal reflections on mortality.
