26 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Veejay Floresca wins Project Runway season 21
- Prize includes $200,000 cash, CFDA mentorship, Elle magazine feature
- Christian Siriano remains most successful Project Runway alum

In the latest season of the fashion competition show Project Runway, which premiered on September 25th, 2025, a new designer has emerged victorious. Veejay Floresca was crowned the winner, taking home a substantial prize package that includes a $200,000 cash prize, a mentorship with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), and a feature in Elle magazine.
The 21st season of Project Runway marked the return of Heidi Klum as the host, with the addition of celebrity stylist Law Roach and Elle editor-in-chief Nina Garcia as judges. The competition resumed after a two-year hiatus following the win of Bishme Cromartie in season 20, an All-Stars season.
While the prize for Project Runway winners has varied over the years, the current package offers comprehensive industry support to help launch the winner's fashion design career. In 2023, Cromartie won $250,000, an Elle spread, and CFDA mentorship, in addition to representation by Agentry PR.
Despite the lucrative prizes, not all Project Runway contestants are paid for their participation. According to a 2013 report, many contestants must quit their jobs to be on the show, and some have even struggled to find employment after their appearance due to the perception that they may not want to do the actual work.
One Project Runway alum who has found immense success is Christian Siriano, the winner of season 4. Siriano, who was the youngest winner at the time, has gone on to build a thriving fashion label and become a go-to designer for numerous celebrities. He has also returned to the show as a mentor, following the departure of Tim Gunn in 2018.
