Events company Project 91 has announced the launch of Playgrounds, a new platform designed to scale its live experiences. This venture brings together Project 91 and its expanding collection of event brands under a unified structure. Investment for this expansion has been secured from Klaf Companies, led by Justin Kalifowitz, and executive David Hua.
Todd Mackall and Ryan Williams will head Playgrounds, which encompasses brands like Mirari, Friends in High Places, and the New York Taco & Tequila Festival. The platform plans to host significant events, such as performances by HUGEL and Alesso at Brooklyn's 10,000-capacity Brooklyn Army Terminal.
Playgrounds is also extending its reach geographically, with plans to establish a presence in Charleston, South Carolina. Following Project 91's innovative approach, they intend to organize events in unconventional locations within Charleston, including waterfront venues and industrial spaces.
This strategic move aims to broaden their operational capacity and market presence. Mackall emphasized a continued focus on attendee experience, combining artist selection, setting, and crowd engagement. Williams highlighted the goal of taking bigger risks consistently across different markets.
