Filmmaker Priyadarshan has recently addressed a controversy surrounding his remark about actor Rajpal Yadav's "education." Priyadarshan clarified that his comment was misunderstood and never intended to question Yadav's academic qualifications.
Priyadarshan explained that by "village education," he meant life exposure gained from growing up in a different environment. He contrasted this with the awareness often developed in metro cities from childhood. The director stressed that his observation focused on life experience and upbringing, not formal schooling or degrees.
He further stated that Rajpal Yadav was not offended by the remark and that they have since discussed the matter. This clarification puts to rest any speculation of a rift between the long-time collaborators. Priyadarshan and Yadav have worked together on numerous popular comedy films over the years.
Their upcoming horror-comedy, Bhooth Bangla, which also stars Akshay Kumar, has had its release date adjusted. The film is now scheduled to premiere on April 17, 2026, instead of the initially planned April 10, 2026.
