Summary
- Director Tharun Moorthy confirms 'Operation Cambodia' sequel
- Prithviraj Sukumaran joins primary cast from first 'Operation Java' film
- Retains core creative team including cinematographer Faiz Siddik

In July 2025, director Tharun Moorthy has officially confirmed the sequel to his 2021 thriller 'Operation Java', with the announcement of 'Operation Cambodia'. The new film, set to release later this year, will be headlined by acclaimed actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who joins the primary cast from the first part, including Balu Varghese, Lukman Avaran, Binu Pappu, Alexander Prasanth, and Irshad Ali.
Tharun's debut directorial venture, 'Operation Java,' explored real-life cyber crimes and their investigations, earning acclaim for its realistic narrative and gripping execution. While 'Operation Cambodia' continues to revolve around cyber crimes, the teaser elements of the film such as guns and bullets on the title poster suggest a more action-heavy approach this time.
Tharun Moorthy has retained his core creative team for the sequel, with cinematographer Faiz Siddik and music director Jakes Bejoy returning to their respective roles. Editing will be managed by Shafeeque VB, who previously co-edited Tharun's film 'Thudarum'. Before moving on to 'Operation Cambodia', Tharun will direct 'Torpedo', a multistarrer featuring Fahadh Faasil, Naslen, Arjun Das, and Ganapathi.
