Princess Eugenie's Baby: No Royal Title?

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have recently welcomed their third child, a baby girl, born in Lisbon, Portugal. This new addition to the family, however, will not be receiving a royal title, similar to her older brothers, August and Ernest. Royal protocol dictates that only direct descendants of the monarch through the male line are granted titles such as 'Prince' or 'Princess'.

As Eugenie is not a working royal and resides partly in Portugal, her children's lack of titles aligns with a desire for less scrutiny. Royal author Robert Jobson noted that this choice allows children like August and Ernest Brooksbank, and Beatrice's daughters Sienna and Athena Mapelli Mozzi, to avoid the pressures of being public figures. This contrasts with Princess Beatrice's daughters, who may hold courtesy titles due to her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's Italian heritage as a Count.
