Federico Borgia's darkly funny feature, "Prince," is set to premiere at the 70th BFI London Film Festival this October. Paris-based Alpha Violet has acquired international sales rights for the film, which explores class divisions and domestic absurdity.
The narrative unfolds in Punta del Este, Uruguay, where an Afghan Hound named Prince inherits a luxury estate. The dog's caretaker, Jaime, must protect the property and Prince from Isabel's estranged son and granddaughter, who stand to inherit only after the dog's demise.
Starring Roberto Suárez and Maitina De Marco, "Prince" is produced by Montelona and co-produced by Werner Cine and Pucará Cine. This marks Borgia's solo directorial debut after his previous festival successes.
The film's premise of a canine heir has captivated distributors, who praised its unique voice and playful yet sharp exploration of greed and family dysfunction.
