Andrew's Royal Lodge Exit: No Payday Ahead
2 Dec
Summary
- Prince Andrew may forfeit over $644,000 payment.
- Financial payout depends on property's condition.
- King Charles will fund Andrew's new residence.

Prince Andrew faces a potential financial shortfall as he prepares to vacate the Royal Lodge after more than two decades. He was tentatively slated to receive over £488,000, approximately $644,000 USD, upon his departure.
However, this sum is conditional on the Crown Estate's assessment that no extensive repairs or dilapidations are necessary. Since Andrew holds a 75-year lease and is expected to cover any refurbishing or maintenance, this significant sum is likely to be forfeited.
While Andrew is not without a roof over his head, his accommodation costs at his new residence in Sandringham will be covered by his brother, King Charles. Meanwhile, his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who also resided at the Royal Lodge, must secure her own housing arrangements.
