Charmelo and Snyder have penned the pilot episode and will executive produce and showrun the series. The narrative centers on Naomi Witt, who flees her wedding and arrives in a small Virginia town to find her estranged twin sister has taken her belongings, leaving her stranded with a teenage niece and a compelling local man.
"Things We Never Got Over" is produced by Amazon MGM Studios as part of its expansion into romance and female-led stories. Lucy Score herself is an executive producer on the series, alongside Gina Girolamo of Strega Stories. The novel, the first in Score's Knockemout trilogy, achieved New York Times bestseller status and significant readership on Kindle Unlimited since its 2022 release.
