- The dancers must fight for survival against criminals.

The film "Pretty Lethal" premiered at SXSW, offering a darkly comedic and emotionally resonant take on the action genre. Directed by Vicky Jewson and written by Kate Freund, the story follows five young ballerinas and their coach who become stranded in a remote area after their bus breaks down en route to a Budapest showcase.
They find unexpected shelter at an inn managed by Devora, portrayed by Uma Thurman, a former ballerina whose career was cut short by injury. The situation turns dire when one of the dancers is murdered by Pasha, forcing the remaining girls to unite and fight for their lives against a criminal element.
The ensemble cast shines, with Maddie Ziegler as a talented dancer clashing with Lana Condor's entitled Princess, and Iris Apatow and Millicent Simmonds portraying complex sisters. Avantika provides comedic relief as Grace. The film balances gritty action with humor and a satisfying narrative of sisterhood, challenging the traditional action movie landscape.
