The Prescott Park Arts Festival in Portsmouth is set to enchant audiences with its summer concert series, running for 20 evenings from June 22 through September 6. The festival will showcase a dynamic lineup of over 20 artists, spanning genres from bluegrass and folk to rock, soul, and country.
The series kicks off on Monday, June 22, with the alt-country and indie pop duo Chaparelle, featuring Zella Day and Jesse Woods. Notable performers include Ralph Stanley II and The Clinch Mountain Boys celebrating bluegrass, and The Walrus performing Beatles hits. Seattle-based rhythm and blues band The Dip and sibling group Infinity Song will also take the stage.
Summer highlights continue with southern singer Kashus Culpepper and acclaimed songwriters Patty Griffin and Kathleen Edwards. The folk-pop trio Tiny Habits will perform while tall ships are in town for the Sail Portsmouth Festival. Fan favorites like The Lone Bellow, Josh Ritter, Devon Gilfillian, Maggie Rose, Ryan Montbleau Band, and soul singer Allen Stone are also scheduled.
Further enhancing the lineup are folk-rock project Caiola, Grammy-nominated Madi Diaz, and the genre-blending Fantastic Cat. The 43rd annual Seacoast Jazz Festival, a separate event, will be held on August 22. Modern Americana artist Langhorne Slim, folk-bluegrass trio The Devil Makes Three, and two-time Grammy nominee Margo Price will close out the series.
All concerts in the series are free, with a suggested donation of $20 per show to support the festival's continuation. Attendees are invited to bring chairs or blankets, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance reservations for premium seating and other amenities can be made online.
