Prateik Babbar Drops Father's Name, Honors Grandpa

Actor Prateik Babbar, now identifying as Prateik Smita Patil, has publicly distanced himself from his father, Raj Babbar. This estrangement was highlighted when Babbar did not invite his father or half-siblings to his second wedding.

Recently, on Father's Day, Babbar chose to honor his maternal grandfather, whom he referred to as his godfather. He expressed deep gratitude for his grandfather's role in raising him and instilling strong values, indicating a strong bond with his mother's side of the family.

In a recent interview, Prateik explained his decision to adopt his mother's name. He revealed that a custody battle after his birth was won by his mother's family. He elaborated on his past bitterness towards both parents, stemming from perceived trauma, which led him to initially reject both surnames.
