Summary
- Director Prashanth Neel originally envisioned 'Ahvana' starring the late Puneeth Rajkumar.
- Scheduling conflicts prevented 'Ahvana' from being produced with Puneeth Rajkumar.
- Neel's idea that became 'KGF' was pitched after 'Ahvana' fell through.

Director Prashanth Neel, known for 'KGF,' recently discussed a forgotten project titled 'Ahvana.' This film was his initial collaboration plan with Hombale Films, the production house behind 'KGF.' Neel revealed that 'Ahvana' was specifically written with the late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar in mind.
Neel explained that Puneeth Rajkumar's personality and screen presence made him the ideal choice for the role in 'Ahvana.' The director considered it a deeply personal project, believing no one else could embody the character's charm and emotion. However, the film could not proceed due to Puneeth Rajkumar's packed schedule and insurmountable scheduling conflicts.
After 'Ahvana' failed to materialize, Prashanth Neel presented a new idea to Hombale Films, which evolved into 'KGF.' The director acknowledged that 'Ahvana' was intrinsically linked to Puneeth Rajkumar, and with the actor's passing in 2021, the film's potential also seemed to fade.
Prashanth Neel is currently working on 'Dragon' with Jr NTR, slated for release on June 11, 2027.
