Pop Star Kim Petras Draws Inspiration from Tippi Hedren and Rugrats' Angelica

In a recent exclusive interview, the 33-year-old singer revealed that her "number one icon" is none other than actress Tippi Hedren, known for her role in Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 horror film The Birds.

Petras explained that she saw the film at a young age and was captivated by Hedren's character, particularly the "minty green skirt suit" she wore. Additionally, the singer admitted to having a long-standing "obsession" with the character Angelica from the popular 90s cartoon Rugrats.

Beyond her retro-inspired fashion choices, Petras also discussed her recent foray into styling her own music video, which she described as a "really exciting" first-time experience. For the video, she utilized "all archival clothing," allowing her to fully realize her unique creative vision.

When it comes to her overall fashion philosophy, Petras believes in trusting one's instincts. "Follow your gut, your, like, spontaneity," she advised. "If your body tells you, 'Oh, I feel insecure in this,' or 'I feel like I'm too much,' trust it. Your body's right."
