Pooja Bedi has spoken candidly about her teenage relationship with Aditya Pancholi, which she described as "a very tumultuous space" that began when she was barely 18. Their widely reported affair in the 1990s occurred while Pancholi was married to Zarina Wahab. Bedi characterized the relationship as emotionally intense, though already broken by the time it concluded.

The breakup led to controversy following allegations made by Bedi's underage domestic worker against Pancholi. Despite the past, Bedi chooses not to elaborate on the details, stating it is "not fair to the children" to repeatedly bring up their father's history. She views the experience as a lesson that has made her stronger and wiser.

Bedi also shared her perspective on marital dynamics, asserting that an "outsider" can only enter a marriage if a void already exists within it. She believes the issue lies with the couple's commitment, not the person who enters their lives.
