The film is an adaptation of the book 'Safed Khaki,' penned by Subhash Shinde's daughter, Atharwa Shinde. Initially, filmmaker Nishikant Kamat had expressed interest in adapting the story, but the project was delayed following his passing in 2020. Farhad Samji has now taken the helm, collaborating with Piyush Singh on the script.
Subhash Shinde dedicated over four decades to the Maharashtra Police, primarily in the Crime Branch. In his early career, he trained under a prestigious cricket scheme. He later founded a police cricket team in Navi Mumbai Rural in November 2011, which went on to win several major tournaments across various circuits.
