Filmmaker Farhad Samji, recognized for his popular comedies, is venturing into a new genre with his upcoming project. He is set to write the screenplay and dialogues for a film based on Senior Inspector Subhash Shinde and his significant contributions to cricket.
The film is an adaptation of the book 'Safed Khaki,' penned by Subhash Shinde's daughter, Atharwa Shinde. Initially, filmmaker Nishikant Kamat had expressed interest in adapting the story, but the project was delayed following his passing in 2020. Farhad Samji has now taken the helm, collaborating with Piyush Singh on the script.
Subhash Shinde dedicated over four decades to the Maharashtra Police, primarily in the Crime Branch. In his early career, he trained under a prestigious cricket scheme. He later founded a police cricket team in Navi Mumbai Rural in November 2011, which went on to win several major tournaments across various circuits.
