Shiny Frigibax Event: Bonuses & Evolution Guide

Pokémon Go is hosting a Frigibax Community Day event on Saturday, June 20, from 2-5 PM in your local time. During this period, Frigibax will spawn in significantly larger numbers, with an increased likelihood of appearing in its shiny form. The event offers an approximate shiny rate of 1 in 24, making it a prime opportunity for dedicated players.

Evolving an Arctibax into Baxcalibur between 2 PM and 9 PM local time on the event day will teach it the exclusive charged move Glaive Rush. For those who miss this window, opportunities to obtain Glaive Rush may arise during a December Community Day weekend or by using an Elite TM.

Baxcalibur is noted as a potent ice-type attacker in PvE content, excelling with Ice Fang and Avalanche. While it can function as a dragon-type attacker with Glaive Rush, it is outclassed by several other Pokémon. In PvP, Baxcalibur may find a niche in Master League.

Community Day bonuses active during the event include tripled Stardust, doubled candy for catching Pokémon, and a doubled chance for XL candy for trainers level 31 and above. Incense will last for three hours, and Lure Modules for one hour. Trainers will also receive an additional special trade, with a halved Stardust cost for trades.

To maximize benefits, players are encouraged to use Star Pieces and Incense. Mega Evolving specific Pokémon like Charizard X, Dragonite, or Rayquaza can yield bonus Frigibax Candy per catch. Additionally, a 'Catch (XP)' bonus from the 'Choose Your Path' research can provide 1.5x XP for successful catches.

Frigibax will continue to spawn around Incenses until 9 PM local time, and Lure Module bonuses will persist for four hours after the event concludes, allowing further chances to find shiny Frigibax.
