Pokemon Bank's Digital Doors Slam Shut Feb 26, 2027!
13 Aug
Summary
- Pokemon Bank service ends February 26, 2027, on 3DS.
- Transfers to Pokemon HOME will cease after this date.
- Pokemon HOME storage capacity increases to 9,000.

The Pokemon Bank service, a staple for Nintendo 3DS players managing their digital creature collections, will officially end on February 26, 2027. This shutdown signifies the closure of the last direct pathway for transferring Pokémon from older 3DS titles to the current Nintendo Switch generation.
As of February 26, 2027, players will no longer be able to deposit or withdraw Pokémon using the 3DS application. Critically, this also means that any remaining Pokémon stored in Pokemon Bank cannot be transferred to the more modern Pokemon HOME service. Players are strongly advised to complete these transfers before the end-of-service date.
While Pokemon Bank's functionality is concluding, the subscription cost for Pokemon HOME remains unchanged. To offset the loss of the Bank service, The Pokemon Company is expanding the storage capacity of Pokemon HOME from 6,000 to 9,000 Pokémon. Support for Pokemon LeafGreen and FireRed on Switch is also being added concurrently.
