Plymouth is set to honor Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday with a special immersive event. The city's Market Hall Immersive Dome will host a new 210-degree show, "Our Story with David Attenborough," debuting on the naturalist's birthday this Friday.
Leading the celebrations are two centenarians, Ivor Foster and Nicky Nicholson, both born in 1926. They will be among the first to witness the immersive spectacle. Foster, a wartime air raid precautions messenger and former RAF gunner, recalls Plymouth's Market Hall from his youth.
Nicholson, who has lived in Plymouth her entire life, also born in 1926, worked in various roles, including with the Navy and for the charity Gingerbread. Both centenarians expressed their anticipation for the show and their admiration for Sir David's work.
The immersive dome utilizes a 210-degree projection system and advanced sound. The "Our Story with David Attenborough" experience chronicles Earth's 4 billion-year history alongside humanity's journey, offering a unique perspective for attendees.
