3 Jun
Summary
- Sony's first-party game sales have declined significantly since 2018.
- Upcoming games include Wolverine, Silent Hill, and a new God of War.
- Nintendo and Xbox are strong competitors in the gaming market.

PlayStation's exclusive game sales have decreased, with figures falling from 54.1 million in the 2018 financial year to 32.1 million in 2025. This decline contrasts with competitors like Nintendo, whose Switch titles have outsold Sony's. Xbox has also strengthened its publishing presence through acquisitions.
Sony unveiled its upcoming game lineup during a recent State of Play stream. The revealed titles include 'Marvel's Wolverine' by Insomniac, set for September 15, 2026. Following this are 'Silent Hill: Townfall' on September 24, 2026, and Capcom's 'Onimusha: Way of the Sword' on September 25, 2026.
Further into the future, 'Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis' is slated for February 12, 2027. Other anticipated releases include 'The Lost Wild' and 'Until Dawn 2' in 2027. A major announcement was 'God of War: Laufey,' which will allow players to control Kratos's late wife.
Additional titles highlighted include 'Ace Combat' (October 2), 'Stuntman: Hollywood,' Remedy's 'Control: Resonant,' and 'Rayman Legends Retold' (October). Prequels like 'Chef Bancho' and horror games 'Ill' and 'Kemuri' are also expected in 2027.
