A Place In The Sun guest nearly stormed out in fury

A former participant on Channel 4's A Place In The Sun, Karen Morrall, shared her frustration with the behind-the-scenes process. She and her husband Mark were seeking a home in Spain with a £150,000 budget in 2021 but left without a purchase.

Morrall expressed that some properties viewed felt like a 'waste of time' as agents seemed unfamiliar with the local area. She recalled one instance where they waited in a car for hours because access to a property couldn't be secured, nearly causing her to leave the show.

In a separate instance, a couple who bought a two-bedroom apartment in Menorca for £80,825, including an optional garage for £8,500, shared their renovation experiences. Despite spending around €4,500 on updates like rewiring and a new boiler, they almost didn't sign the contract due to an uncleared garage.

Their agent, who had become a friend, went 'over and above' by clearing the garage herself, which was crucial for the sale to proceed. Another couple, Nicola and Paul, who purchased an apartment in Lanzarote in November 2020, showcased a significant transformation of their new home.
