PJ Morton's Double Album: Sacred & Secular Worlds Collide

PJ Morton, a Grammy-winning artist, has unveiled his new double album, 'Saturday Night, Sunday Morning.' This ambitious project is divided into two distinct parts, exploring the artist's oscillation between secular and sacred spaces. The 'Saturday Night' side delves into R&B and reggae rhythms, featuring tracks like 'Don't Give Up on Us' and 'Mutual.'

The 'Sunday Morning' side marks Morton's first full gospel album, featuring songs entirely performed by him. Inspired by scripture and artists like Commissioned, this portion reflects his deep roots in gospel music. Both sides of the album have a precise runtime of 29 minutes and 14 seconds.

The album is slated for release on Juneteenth, June 19, 2026, a date chosen for its significance to the Black experience and Morton's mother's birthday. Prior to the release, Morton will host a listening party at the National Museum of African-American Music in Nashville, which will also feature a career-spanning exhibition recognizing his contributions to Black music history.
