Pivot Podcast Hosts Kick Off Nationwide Tour, Tackling Tech and Politics

In the coming weeks, the co-hosts of the popular Pivot podcast, Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway, will be embarking on a weeklong tour across the U.S. and Canada. Beginning on November 8th in Toronto, the tour will take them to various cities including Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

The Pivot podcast, known for its insightful analysis of technology, business, and current events, will now give fans the opportunity to engage with the hosts directly during the live events. Swisher and Galloway plan to tailor the discussions to the news of the day, as well as themes from the podcast and Galloway's upcoming book critiquing modern masculinity.

The tour announcement comes on the heels of a landmark renewal deal between the Pivot hosts and their parent company, Vox Media. Under the new agreement, Swisher and Galloway will now receive a significantly higher percentage of the revenue generated by their portfolio of five podcasts, splitting around 70% of the total, with Vox taking the remaining 30%. This revenue-sharing model, rather than an upfront payment or guarantee, could potentially translate to millions for the hosts.

As Swisher notes, the tour and the new deal reflect a shift in the podcast industry, where companies that are willing to work collaboratively with talent are more likely to succeed. The Pivot podcast has built a loyal following by providing insightful and engaging discussions on the intersection of technology, business, and politics.
