Phil Rosenthal is ushering in a new era for his popular show, "Somebody Feed Phil," with a special episode focusing on a culinary venture closer to home. The episode, set to premiere on YouTube on July 27, will offer fans an in-depth look at Max and Helen's, a Los Angeles diner.
This Larchmont-based restaurant, named after Rosenthal's parents, was launched in November 2025 in collaboration with chef Nancy Silverton. It has since received critical praise and attracted considerable attention for its comforting dishes and inviting ambiance.
The move to YouTube follows a production agreement between Banijay and Rosenthal's Lucky Bastards banner. New content, including short and long-form original material, will be available on a dedicated "Phil Rosenthal World" channel. This transition marks a new platform for the show, which previously aired on Netflix for eight seasons.
Rosenthal aims to elevate comfort food at Max and Helen's, focusing on high-quality staples like eggs, home fries, toast, and coffee. The vision is to offer the best versions of these classics, eschewing more elaborate options to maintain a focus on pure, unadulterated comfort. This special episode is designed to engage fans and bridge the period leading up to the Season 9 premiere in early 2027.
