Bomb Cyclone Halts PGA Awards in NYC
24 Feb
Summary
- PGA Awards ceremony in New York postponed due to a bomb cyclone.
- Children's, Sports, Short Form, and Innovation award winners delayed.
- Major film nominees for the Zanuck Award to be announced Saturday.

A bomb cyclone has forced the postponement of the Producers Guild of America's PGA Awards ceremony in New York. Originally scheduled for tonight, the event honoring Children's and Sports categories has been rescheduled. Winners for these categories, along with Short Form and PGA Innovation Awards, will now be announced this Thursday. The main Producers Guild Awards ceremony, set to honor top theatrical motion pictures, will proceed on Saturday, February 28, at the Fairmont Century Plaza.
New York and surrounding areas are currently experiencing a historic storm, characterized by record snowfall. This weather event has led to widespread disruptions, including closed movie theaters and canceled Broadway performances. The PGA Awards' Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures is a notable predictor of the Best Picture Academy Award, having aligned 17 times in the past 22 years. Last year, the PGA's choice, Anora, also won the Oscar.
In addition to competitive awards, the PGA will recognize industry heavyweights. Jason Blum of Blumhouse will receive the Milestone Award. Amy Pascal, producer of the Spider-Verse franchise, is set for the David O. Selznick Achievement Award. Mara Brock Akil, creator of The Game and Girlfriends, will be presented with the Norman Lear Achievement Award.
