Veteran director Peter Rose, a renowned figure in British television, has died. The heartbreaking news of his passing on Saturday, January 17, was shared by his friend, screenwriter Harry Duffin. Duffin remembered Rose as a "great friend" they met while working on "Howards Way" in the 1980s.
Rose's extensive directorial career included numerous episodes of major UK soap operas. He helmed 111 episodes of Coronation Street between 2011 and 2024, and 126 episodes of EastEnders from 2003 to 2010. His contributions extended to Emmerdale as well.
Beyond these flagship shows, Rose's portfolio featured work on Channel 4's Brookside, Channel 5's Family Affairs, and ITV's Crossroads.
