This action follows Hilton's hospitalization on August 4, after he livestreamed acts of self-harm from his Miami residence. The celebrity blogger was placed under Florida's Baker Act for mental health examination.

According to his family, Hilton is in stable condition but sustained injuries necessitating surgery. They emphasized that his recovery will be a lengthy process and have sought to clarify misinformation circulating about the situation. The family's priority is the well-being of his children, who were present in the home during the incident and are now being supported in their healing process.

Prior to his hospitalization, Hilton's family reported that his children, niece, and sister were in the home. They left to protect the children from witnessing his distress. Communication with Hilton has been limited to immediate family and medical providers during his treatment.
