Summary

- Producers discovered actor's prior unnamed cyclops role.
- New series is more faithful to books than 2010 film.
The beloved "Percy Jackson & the Olympians" novels are captivating a new audience with the Disney+ series, launched in 2023. This adaptation offers a more faithful interpretation of Rick Riordan's source material compared to the 2010 film and its 2013 sequel.
The recent second season centered on Percy Jackson's quest for the Golden Fleece, guarded by the cyclops Polyphemus. Actor Aleks Paunovic took on this significant role, marking an intriguing return to the franchise. Paunovic had a brief, unnamed appearance as a cyclops in the 2010 "Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief" movie.
Paunovic strategically kept his previous film role private until his contract for the series was finalized. Executive producer Dan Shotz humorously acknowledged this connection as an "Easter egg" for observant fans, highlighting the unexpected continuity.
