Penn State Football Doc 'Saving the Roar' Now Streaming

The documentary "Saving the Roar," which captures the Penn State Nittany Lions' challenging 2012 football season, is now accessible online for the first time. This film offers an in-depth look at the team's journey following the firing and death of Joe Paterno and significant NCAA sanctions. It showcases the players' and coaches' determination to keep the program afloat.

Produced by Beverly Hills Production, the documentary features interviews with key figures including head coach Bill O'Brien, players Michael Mauti and Jordan Hill, and Penn State legends Franco Harris and Saquon Barkley. The film highlights the immense pressure and tradition the young athletes carried. Director Michael P. Nash noted the emotional depth required to tell their story.

"Saving the Roar" is available for rent on Vimeo, with a portion of proceeds designated for Penn State's NIL collective upon reaching 100,000 views. The film's release coincides with the current era under head coach Matt Campbell, who is also emphasizing tradition and unity within the program. Nash believes the film can help reignite the 'roar' for Penn State football.
