In an exclusive reveal, Penn Badgley, the lead actor of the Netflix series 'You', has shared behind-the-scenes details about filming intimate scenes for the show's upcoming third season. Badgley, who plays the character of Joe Goldberg, has detailed his experience in an excerpt from his upcoming book, 'Crushmore: Essays on Love, Loss, and Coming-of-Age', which was published by Vulture on September 25th.

Badgley, 38, explains that for a particular fantasy sequence in the new season, the director chose to place the camera directly in front of his face. This meant that Badgley had to "simulate sex by myself" as there was not enough room for him and his co-star Victoria Pedretti, who plays his on-screen wife Love, to fit within the tight shot.

The actor further reveals that in this scene, his character Joe is "meant to be humpin' on his wife" but is actually imagining "having sex with a librarian" named Marienne, played by Tati Gabrielle, that "he's been flirting with." This intimate moment provides a unique insight into the show's production and the challenges faced by the actors in bringing these complex characters to life.
