The highly anticipated Telugu film 'Peddi,' starring Ram Charan, has finalized a lucrative deal for its North American theatrical distribution rights. A leading distributor has acquired these rights, with the film's breakeven target in the USA and Canada set at $6.5 million (approximately 58.89 crore). This significant valuation underscores the growing demand for Telugu cinema in the North American market, boosted by a substantial Telugu diaspora.
Ram Charan, enjoying considerable popularity in the territory following the success of 'RRR,' is a key draw for 'Peddi.' His previous solo film, 'Rangasthalam,' remains his highest-grossing in North America, earning $3.51 million. To achieve profitability, 'Peddi' will need to surpass 'Rangasthalam's' performance by over 85%. The sports action drama, written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is slated for a theatrical release on April 30, 2026.
The film, produced with an estimated budget of 300 crore, has generated considerable buzz through its promotional content. Achieving the $6.5 million breakeven goal will depend on sustained audience interest and positive word-of-mouth following its release.
