New Street Station in Birmingham has been transformed with an immersive installation celebrating the world of Peaky Blinders.
The station concourse now features period-inspired scenery and a special tribute to the upcoming "Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man" film. At the heart of the display is Ozzy the Bull, the station's 33ft mechanical bull, now adorned with a Peaky Blinders-style flat cap.
This immersive experience offers members of the public free, keepsake portraits from Friday until Monday, February 29th, 2024. The event highlights Birmingham's significant role in the series' narrative and its growing importance as a filming destination.
Martin Simms of Production Central WM noted the global phenomenon of Peaky Blinders originating from Birmingham. He stated that US visitors to the city have increased by 50% due to the show's popularity. The filming of "Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man" alone has injected approximately £1 million into the local economy.
Filming locations for the new movie include areas around the Council House and Digbeth Loc. Studios. Ozzy the Bull was initially unveiled in 2023 and was a centerpiece of the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.
