Comedian Paul Fenech Glassed on Stage

Fat Pizza star Paul Fenech sustained a significant hand injury during a live comedy performance on Australia Day in Toowoomba, Queensland. The 53-year-old comedian required 20 stitches after an audience member allegedly hurled a glass, which shattered upon impact. Fenech managed to block the glass with a microphone, but shards lodged in his knuckle. He recounted that the incident arose after he made jokes about a woman in the audience and her boyfriend, whom he alleged had a relationship with a minor. The comedian insisted on continuing his Australia Day performances, including a later show on the Gold Coast, despite his injury. He mentioned that chairs were also thrown during the altercation before the alleged attacker fled. This event follows Fenech's recent public remarks regarding Rebel Wilson's accusations of 'fatphobic' jokes on his SBS series, which he deemed ungrateful.
