In Nandgaon, Patna, this year's Durga Puja, organized by the New Student Club, will center around a striking depiction of Maa Kali in her fierce "raudra roop" as she slays the demon Raktabeej. This powerful imagery symbolizes the ultimate destruction of ego and the triumph of truth and dharma over multiplying negativity. Preparations are underway for the pandal's construction, decorations, and thematic presentation, focusing on an artistic and sound experience for devotees.
A specialized team is constructing a mountain-shaped pandal with an underlying cave to dramatize Maa Kali's battle against Raktabeej and other demons. Idol maker Ranjan Kumar Tanti from Gaya, along with seven associates, is meticulously crafting the idol. The puja committee has allocated approximately ten lakh rupees for the elaborate "shringaar" of Maa Kali, pandal construction, essential puja rituals, and the distribution of bhog-prasad.
Following the "pat" opening on Saptami, devotees will be offered bhog-prasad consisting of halwa on Saptami, kheer on Ashtami, and khichdi on Navami. A "bhandara" and prasad distribution will conclude the festivities, providing a sacred and communal experience for all.
