Eco-Thriller 'Patagonia' Unites Europe & Latin America

A new series titled "Patagonia," a collaborative venture between Spain's Movistar Plus, Chile's Wood Producciones, and Spain's Atlantika Films, is currently in production. Starring Itziar Ituño as Alicia, the narrative centers on her search for her son Noah, who has disappeared in the Patagonian region. The series is being filmed in the south of Chile and will later move to the Basque Country.

Described as a fusion of eco-thriller and family drama, "Patagonia" explores themes of environmental threats, family ties, and survival. The production highlights a pioneering collaboration between European and Latin American creative teams and financial partners. This international effort aims to create a story with global resonance.

Directed by Rodrigo Susarte, the six-episode series features a cast including Kandido Uranga and Pablo Macaya. Luis Barrales and Anastasia Ayazi penned the scripts. The project is supported by various entities, including Chile's CNTV and Spain's Diputación Foral de Bizkaia, underscoring its broad backing.

Producers emphasize that "Patagonia" represents an innovative production model, uniting diverse talent and resources to achieve worldwide reach. The series delves into the fragility of human connections against the backdrop of nature and power, compelling characters to re-evaluate their perspectives.
