Acclaimed filmmaker Park Chan-Wook is gearing up for a new Western project, "The Brigands of Rattlecreek." Warner Bros.' recently established specialty division, Clockwork, is reportedly in final negotiations to acquire the film. This marks a significant move for the new division, which also recently picked up Sean Baker's "Ti Amo!".
The film boasts a stellar cast including Matthew McConaughey, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal, and Tang Wei. "The Brigands of Rattlecreek" will delve into a classic revenge narrative where a sheriff and a doctor pursue bandits who terrorize a town during a severe storm. Production is scheduled to commence in early 2027.
Park Chan-Wook, renowned for films such as "Oldboy" and "The Handmaiden," will also produce through his Moho Film banner. The screenplay is by S. Craig Zahler, with revisions by Park himself. The film's international sales are being managed by Patrick Wachsberger's Legendary label 193, while WME Independent and CAA Media Finance brokered the deal with Clockwork.
