Paramount Streamlines Nickelodeon Lineup, Cancels Dora and Ninja Turtles

In a major restructuring move, Paramount is consolidating its Nickelodeon linear networks and animation studios into a new TV Media division as of November 2025. As part of this reorganization, the company has decided to cancel two of Nickelodeon's long-running series: Dora the Explorer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The decision to streamline Nickelodeon's programming slate comes from Paramount's new TV Media chair, George Cheeks. In a recent memo, Cheeks outlined plans to "focus on a more curated slate" of cable shows, prioritizing established franchises like SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, RuPaul's Drag Race, and The Daily Show. While Dora and Ninja Turtles have been staples on Nickelodeon for years, they did not make the cut for Paramount's renewed focus on its top-performing properties.

Despite the cancellations, Paramount remains committed to licensing opportunities for these series, indicating they may return in new iterations in the future. For now, the company is doubling down on its most successful Nickelodeon brands as it seeks to optimize programming and marketing resources across its cable networks.
