James Gray's crime drama, 'Paper Tiger,' is set to premiere as the opening film for the 50th São Paulo International Film Festival on October 14th. This highly anticipated movie, which previously screened at the Cannes Film Festival, features a stellar cast including Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, and Miles Teller.
Gray will be in attendance to accept the festival's prestigious Leon Cakoff Award. A retrospective of his directorial work has also been scheduled as part of the festival's celebratory 50th-anniversary programming.
The narrative centers on two brothers whose pursuit of the American dream leads them into a perilous operation. They become ensnared in a web of corruption and violence, finding themselves targeted by the Russian mafia.
Produced by São Paulo-based RT Features in collaboration with Leone Film Group and Keep Head Productions, 'Paper Tiger' marks another significant collaboration between Gray and RT Features. The film will be commercially screened in São Paulo from October 15th to 29th.
