Pankaj Tripathi Returns to Stage After 12 Years

Actor Pankaj Tripathi is returning to the theatre after a 12-year absence, taking on a cameo role in the musical comedy Lailaaj. This production holds particular significance as it is co-produced by Tripathi, his wife Mridula, and features their daughter, Aashi, in her first performance alongside her father. Tripathi expressed that theatre, where his acting journey began, offers a unique intimacy and honesty that cinema cannot replicate.

Lailaaj, written and directed by Faiz Mohammed Khan, is described as a heartfelt project rooted in family and a shared passion for storytelling. It is scheduled to premiere on February 8 at Rangsharda in Mumbai. The play aims to blend contemporary sensibilities with traditional Indian theatre, incorporating music and humor to convey its emotional narrative.
