Pankaj Tripathi: Artists need breaks to 'reinvent themselves'

Pankaj Tripathi, an advocate for a slower pace of life, has spoken out about the importance of breaks for artists to reinvent themselves. He believes that unlike factory-made products, artists require periods of rest to foster creativity and approach their work with renewed excitement. Tripathi supported recent decisions by singer Arijit Singh and comedian Zakir Khan to take breaks, citing health and creative reasons respectively.

Tripathi himself experienced a shift, moving from having multiple releases a year to a more selective approach. He realized the need to "go back to basics" and only engage with stories that personally resonate with him. This change stemmed from a realization that constant work can be tiring and that audiences should anticipate an actor's next project.

Beyond personal career choices, Tripathi also highlighted the significance of mental health awareness, backing the YouTube web series "Perfect Family." He promoted the show, directed by Ajay Rai, to encourage wider viewership and open conversations about mental well-being. Tripathi is also preparing for upcoming projects, including an untitled comedy with director Priyadarshan and the movie adaptation of "Mirzapur."
