The producer also revealed that he spent a couple of hours with Osbourne in his hotel room the night before the final performance, describing the singer as someone who could "see you in your good, your bad, and just in a way that you were."

Tragically, Osbourne passed away just a few weeks later, on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. Watt said the news of his death was a "giant shock" and that the whole last month of Osbourne's life felt like a "dream sequence." The producer credited the two albums he worked on with Osbourne as being a "purpose" for the singer during his illness, helping him to "feel great and laugh and sing and dance and heal."

Osbourne's family was touched by the outpouring of love and support from fans around the world following his passing. They are planning a small, private funeral to celebrate his life, as the "Iron Man" singer would have wanted, rather than a "mope-fest."
