Blizzard Entertainment is rebranding Overwatch 2 back to its original title, 'Overwatch,' beginning next month. This change coincides with the launch of a new year-long narrative event titled 'The Reign of Talon' on February 10. The story will unfold across multiple seasons, concluding in Season 6, and will be told through cinematics, motion comics, in-game events, and more.
To support the new narrative, ten new heroes will be introduced throughout the year, with the first five arriving with Season 1. These include new characters for both the Talon and Overwatch factions. The game will also feature a UI/UX overhaul, competitive rank resets, and the introduction of new sub-roles within the existing Tank, Damage, and Support categories.
Further content includes a Conquest Meta event, a new Japan Night map in Season 3, and a collaboration with Hello Kitty & Friends from February 10 to February 23. Players can expect faction-themed skins, new bundles, shop updates, and a new Mythic Hero skin each season. Additionally, an upgraded edition of Overwatch will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring.
